Gill Swain is a freelance news, feature and travel writer whose work has been published in a wide spectrum of UK newspapers and magazines. She has reported from all over the world as a former news reporter at the Daily Mail and feature writer at the Daily Mirror and she spent shorter periods on the staffs of the Daily Express and The People. Recently she diversified into ghost writing and writing biographies. Her latest ghost-writing project ‘One Last Goodbye,’ the autobiography of Kay Gilderdale, is published by Ebury Press in April, 2011. She previously acted as ghost writer for thalidomide victim, Louise Medus, whose story, 'No Hand to Hold and No Legs to Dance On,' was published by Accent Press in 2009. She is working on a biography of inspiring charity worker Bronwen Jones, the founder of the remarkable South African charity,Children of Fire.

In 2007 Gill spent three months living in the West Bank serving as a human rights observer and became passionately committed to the cause of obtaining justice for the Palestinians. In January 2009, she took on the editorship of Palestine News, the quarterly magazine produced by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign.
